On Wednesday (July 2, 2025), Iberia announced an expansion of their intermodal Bus&Fly partnership with Alsa.  The bus service is now available from five additional cities, including Coruña (LRN), Lugo (LCU), Palencia (PAL), Torrelavega (TVE) and Cartagena (CXG).  The intermodal product now allows Alsa bus journeys from 25 Spanish cities and Madrid airport on a single ticket combined with Iberia’s flights to over 90 destinations.

In Wednesday’s announcement, Iberia’s Commercial Director – Network Development, Alliances and Customers, María Jesús López Solás, said,

“We are delighted to continue expanding our offer of intermodal services with Alsa, which allows us to offer our customers a more varied, comfortable and accessible option to travel from various cities in Spain to our international flights.  With the addition of these new cities and improved connections, our customers will be able to enjoy greater flexibility and convenience, combining their land and air journeys in a single ticket.”

Also commenting on the Bus&Fly expansion, Alsa’s Commercial Director, Rocío Escondrillas, added,

With these new destinations, Bus&Fly is moving towards more sustainable tourism and mobility, a commitment that both companies share.  We expand the portfolio of intermodal services we offer, making it more comfortable and easier for our customers to travel internationally by bus and plane, guaranteeing the connection and optimizing their travel time, and offering them a competitive price without the expenses associated with car travel and parking.”

The five new cities join 20 already connected cities, including Albacete, Alicante, Benidorm, Bilbao, Burgos, Gijón, Granada, León, Logroño, Lorca, Murcia, Oviedo, Ponferrada, San Sebastián, Santander, Santiago de Compostela, Soria, Valladolid, Vitoria and Zaragoza.  Additionally, Bus&Fly customers can now purchase the Iberia Basic Fare for their journeys.  This is the most economical option in the Economy cabin, designed for customers looking for a more competitive price and do not need to check in luggage.
