Located in the heart of Kyushu, Kumamoto offers a rich cultural history and stunning natural landscapes. Visitors can hike or drive through dramatic volcanic landscapes, and observe active volcanoes at Mount Aso, which is home to the world’s largest caldera. The volcano also provides Kumamoto with many relaxing hot springs, where travelers can unwind and soak their stress away.
