Gulf Air Expands Codeshare Partnership with Turkish Airlines

Gulf Air has announced an expansion of their codeshare partnership with Turkish Airlines that will provide additional connectivity between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Europe via Istanbul.

On Sunday (December 21, 2025), Gulf Air, Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, announced an expansion of their codeshare agreement with Turkish Airlines, the national flag carrier of Türkiye, unlocking new routes to Europe via Istanbul and giving guests access to additional destinations across Europe and Türkiye through Istanbul Airport (IST). Under the expanded agreement, Gulf Air passengers can now connect via Istanbul to Budapest (BUD), Prague (PRG), Venice (VCE), Vienna (VIE), and Rize in Türkiye (RZV).
In Sunday’s announcement, Gulf Air’s CEO, Mr. Martin Gauss,
“By expanding our codeshare with Turkish Airlines, we are giving our passengers access to more destinations across Europe and Türkiye via Istanbul, with greater choice and flexibility when planning their journeys. By leveraging Istanbul Airport as a major connection hub, we can bring more cities within reach through a single, seamless itinerary in partnership with Turkish Airlines. Our coordinated schedules are designed to deliver smoother connections and a more streamlined travel experience for our customers across these shared routes.”
Also commenting on the codeshare expansion, Turkish Airlines’ CEO, Bilal Eksi, added,
“We are pleased to deepen the cooperation with Gulf Air through this codeshare expansion, thus continuing to enhance Istanbul’s role as a leading global hub. We believe this expanded collaboration will provide added value for our guests through improved connectivity.”
The expanded codeshare keeps Bahrain at the heart of Gulf Air’s network, while opening more options for travel to Europe and Türkiye. Whether traveling for business or leisure, passengers will benefit from a wider range of itineraries and a seamless journey across the shared routes, reinforcing Bahrain’s position as a key gateway between the Middle East, Europe, and beyond.
