Garuda Indonesia Introduces Boeing 737-8 MAX to Fleet with Refreshed Livery

On Tuesday (August 5, 2025), Garuda Indonesia announced the introduction of the Boeing 737-8 MAX as the newest addition to their fleet.  The new aircraft also features a new, refreshed, modern and elegant livery.  Powered by advanced CFM International LEAP-1B engines, the aircraft delivers significant fuel savings, lower emission and a smaller noise footprint compared to previous generation aircraft.  The wing design of the aircraft further supports efficiency, and features high-technology scimitar winglets, which help to reduce air resistance, thereby improving fuel efficiency by up to two percent.  Additionally, increased fuel tank capacity allows the aircraft to fly longer distances without needing to refuel frequently.  


The Boeing 737-8’s advanced flight deck has been designed to enhance pilot awareness and reduce potential risks during takeoff and landing.  This includes features such as the Airport Moving Map to help pilots navigate busy runways, especially in low-visibility or poor weather conditions, as well as a Heads-Up Display (HUD) allowing pilots to view crucial flight information without taking their eyes off the runway.   GPS-based landing systems also enable precise landings, even at airports that lack traditional instrument landing systems (ILS).


The Boeing Sky Interior creates a more spacious and relaxing cabin atmosphere through dynamic lighting that adjusts based on time and conditions.  The aircraft windows are also 20 percent larger, providing more natural light and scenic views, while larger overhead bins provide up to 50 percent more carry-on bag space.  Additionally, Garuda Indonesia’s new 737-8 features inflight entertainment and connectivity options, ensuring an enjoyable onboard experience from take-off to landing.

Garuda Indonesia will also offer a wider and higher-quality menu selection onboard their new Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft.  This includes options from signature Indonesian dishes to healthy light meals, as well as special dietary options.  Naturally, each meal is served with the warm hospitality Garuda is known for, ensuring customer satisfaction at 30,000 feet.
