Midway will now be the carrier’s primary airport in Chicago, although Frontier will continue to operate flights to and from Chicago O’Hare international airport (ORD). Celebrating the launch of the new service, the airline is offering one-way fares to several popular U.S. destinations from only $59. To qualify for the low fares, tickets must be purchased by 11:59 p.m. Eastern on May 3, 2022 for nonstop travel on select days through June 8, 2022. Blackout dates include May 26th through May 31, 2022. A three-day advance purchase is required, but roundtrip travel is not required.

In today’s announcement, Frontier Airlines’ Director of Marketing, Joshua Rashkin, said,

“We’re excited to launch service from Chicago Midway today, serving a wide variety of popular destinations spanning the U.S. from coast to coast. With this inaugural service, MDW becomes our primary Chicago Airport. We continue to offer service from O’Hare, as well, providing Chicago-area consumers an abundance of choice to enjoy Frontier’s ultra-low fares and friendly service.”

Also commenting on Frontier’s new Midway service, City of Chicago Commissioner, Jamie L. Rhee, added,

“On behalf of Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot and the entire Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA), I am thrilled to welcome Frontier Airlines back to Midway International Airport. Travelers now have two airport options – O’Hare and Midway - to fly Frontier to visit the ‘Windy City’, voted Best Big City in the U.S. by Conde Nast Traveler for the fifth year in a row.”
