flydubai will expand their Pakistan network with the launch of daily service to Islamabad and Lahore from July 1st, 2024. The routes will be operated daily with a Boeing 737 MAX jet featuring Business Class and Economy Class cabins.
On Monday (June 24, 2024), flydubai announced an expansion of their Pakistan network with the launch of new service from Dubai International Airport (DXB) to Islamabad International Airport (ISB) and Allama Iqbal International Airport (LHE) in Lahore. The carrier first started operating flights to Pakistan in 2010, with the launch of service to Karachi. In addition to Islamabad and Lahore, flydubai also offers service to Faisalabad, Karachi, Multan, Quetta and Sialkot. Starting July 1st, 2024, the routes will be operated daily with a Boeing 737 MAX aircraft featuring Business Class and Economy cabins.
In Monday’s announcement, flydubai’s Chief Commercial Officer, Hamad Obaidalla, said,
“Pakistan has long been an important market for flydubai. Since 2010 when we first started operations to the market, we have seen sustained demand for travel and with the start of our daily services to Islamabad and Lahore, we look forward to offering passengers more opportunities to explore Dubai, the GCC region and beyond on the flydubai network.”
Also commenting on the launch of the new Pakistan routes, flydubai’s SVP – Commercial
Operations for the UAE, GCC, Africa and the Indian Subcontinent, Sudhir Sreedharan, added,
“flydubai’s new daily services to Islamabad and Lahore will offer our customers from the UAE and Pakistan with more convenient and reliable options for travel. As our flights will be operated by our fleet of Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, we are confident that passengers will enjoy an enhanced travel experience with our onboard product.”
Since commencing operations in 2009, flydubai has grown their network to 129 destinations across 58 countries in Africa, Central Asia, the Caucuses, Central and South-East Europe, the GCC and the Middle East, and the Indian Subcontinent. The carrier has opened more than 75 new routes that did not previously have direct air links to Dubai or were not served by a UAE carrier. flydubai operates a single fleet type of 86 Boeing airplanes, including Boeing 737-800NGs, 737-8 MAX, and 737-9 MAX models, and also has an order backlog of over 100 737s. At the Dubai Airshow in November 2023, the carrier ordered 30 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, their first widebody jet order ever.
