flydubai Launches Service From Dubai to Budapest and Warsaw

flydubai has launched four weekly flights between Dubai and Budapest, as well as daily service between Dubai and Warsaw, complementing existing service to Krakow.

On Friday (October 1st, 2021), flydubai announced the launch of service From Dubai International Airport (DXB) to Budapest international Airport (BUD) and Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW), which commenced on Thursday (September 30th). The carrier will offer four weekly flights to Budapest and daily service to Warsaw, which becomes the carrier’s second destination in Poland after Krakow (KRK). The inaugural flight to Budapest was piloted by Captain Fabian Lazlo of Hungary and First Officer Eisa Al Suwaidi from the UAE, while Hungarian cabin crew members included the captain’s daughter, Cserne Fabiana Rebeka and Toth Reka. The Warsaw flight was also operated with Polish national cabin crew members Agata Samborska, Katarzyna Boryna and Paulina Kaniowska.


In Friday’s announcement, flydubai’s Chief Executive Officer, Ghaith al Ghaith, said,


“We have seen growing demand for travel this summer and with the start of flights to Budapest and Warsaw, we are expanding our network over the winter schedule to offer our passengers more choice for travel. Our newly launched operations to Hungary and Poland will also strengthen links with the UAE.”


Also commenting on the launch of the new routes, flydubai’s Senior Vice President – Commercial Operations and e-commerce, Jeyhun Efendi, added,


“The start of direct flights to Budapest and Warsaw expands our network in Europe to 20 points in 17 countries. We are excited to offer passengers a reliable and affordable option to travel to Dubai and the convenience of connecting further afield on codeshare flights on the combined Emirates and flydubai network of 190 destinations.”


Guests traveling on a flydubai flight to Dubai will enjoy a complimentary 1-Day Ticket to visit Expo 2020 Dubai, which opened on October 1st and runs through March 31, 2022. Emirates will codeshare on the route offering seamless onward connections on both networks via Dubai to over 190 global destinations including Australia, China, the Indian Ocean region, Japan, South Asia and the U.S. Flights will operate out of DXB Terminal 3 with service to Budapest on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, while Warsaw flights will operate daily.
