On Thursday (November 13, 2025), Finnair announced the addition of 12 new European destinations to their summer 2025 flying program. For winter 2026, the carrier will also resume direct flights to Lapland from three European cities, including Brussels, Paris and Zurich, complementing daily service from Helsinki.  Next summer from Helsinki, Finnair will offer service to Alta, Catania, Florence, Kos and Valencia (announced earlier this year), and now has opened ticket sales to Kuressaare in Estonia, Luxembourg, Stavanger in Norway, Thessaloniki in Greece, Tirana in Albania, Turin in Italy and Umeå in Sweden.  With these additions, Finnair’s 2026 network will include 93 European destinations, 11 Asian destinations, seven North American destinations (including Toronto, which opens in summer 2026), and two destinations in the Middle East.

In Thursday’s announcement, Finnair’s Chief Revenue Officer, Christine Rovelli, said,

“We are excited to tap into growth opportunities in the market, further strengthening our broad network of direct connections from our Helsinki hub.  The new European destinations also connect new markets to our long-haul network, and the Lapland flights further strengthen our role in connecting the world to the wonders of Finnish Lapland.”

The new service to Stavanger complements Finnair’s Norway offering, and offers corporate travelers’ smooth connections to Finnair’s Asian network.  The flight is operated via Arlanda, also accommodating traffic between Sweden and Norway.  Umeå service will strengthen Finnair’s presence in Sweden, and is with a triangle flight via Vaasa, catering to local travelers between the two cities by the Gulf of Bothnia.  The addition of Luxembourg adds to Finnair’s extensive network of European capitals, and attracts both business and leisure travelers.

Finnair’s Mediterranean network will be expanded with new service to/from the Greek Island of Thessaloniki.  Turin, Italy offers travelers both cultural attractions and access to mountains, while Tirana in Albania is a rapidly developing city destination close to the coast and marks a new country for Finnair.  Kuressaare in Estonia adds to Finnair’s Baltic offering, and is ideal for leisure travelers seeking nature experiences and rich cultural heritage.
