On Monday (October 27, 2025), Fiji Airways announced that Paul Scurrah has been appointed Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer effective November 1, 2025.  Mr. Scurrah will succeed Andre Viljoen, who will take on a new role at Air Mauritius, while remaining on the Fiji Airways Board.  Paul Scurrah brings over two decades of executive experience across aviation, transport, logistics and tourism.  Most recently, he served as CEO of Pacific National, Australia’s largest private rail freight company.  Previously, he served a CEO of Virgin Australia, the country’s second-largest airline.

In Monday’s announcement, Fiji Airways Group’s Chairman, Mr. Nalin Patel, said in part,

“…We warmly welcome Mr. Scurrah to the Fiji Airways family and look forward to a successful journey ahead.  The Board sincerely thanks Mr. Andre Viljoen for a decade of exceptional leadership as Managing Director and CEO of Fiji Airways.  Under his stewardship, the airline achieved significant growth, navigating unprecedented global challenges, emerging stronger and more resilient. His commitment to excellence, innovation, and national pride has left a lasting legacy, and we thank him for his contribution to Fiji Airways…”
