Starting June 14, 2026, relaunch seasonal summer service between Abu Dhabi and Zanzibar. The route will operate four times weekly through September 6, 2026.

On Tuesday (September 30, 2025), Etihad Airways announced the resumption of service between Abu Dhabi and Zanzibar for summer 2026. Starting June 14, 2026, the route will operate four times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Flights will be operated by an Airbus A320, featuring Business and Economy cabins. Zanzibar becomes Etihad’s 30th destination announced this year, reinforcing the carrier’s ambitious global expansion plans.
In Tuesday’s announcement, Etihad Airways’ CEO, Antonoaldo Neves, said,
“Zanzibar is the perfect summer escape and we are thrilled to welcome it back to our growing network. From world-famous beaches and spice markets to rich history and culture, Zanzibar has something for everyone. We know it’s a destination our guests have been eager to see return, and we can’t wait to connect them to this unique island paradise.”

Zanzibar is part of Tanzania’s idyllic archipelago, and is known for its UNESCO-listed Stone Town, spice plantations and some of the world’s most spectacular beaches. From diving coral reefs to exploring centuries-old alleyways, the island offers a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. Additionally, Zanzibar serves as a gateway to East Africa’s iconic safari destinations, making it an ideal double holiday with the Serengeti or Kilimanjaro.
