Etihad Airways Launches Daily Year-Round Scheduled Flights to Tel Aviv
From March 28, 2021 the carrier will offer daily service between Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv with inbound flights conveniently timed for seamless connections via Abu Dhabi on Etihad’s network to destinations in China, India, Thailand and Australia.
On Monday (November 16, 2020), Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, announced the launch of daily scheduled year-round service between Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv from March 28, 2021. The new service is the result of the normalization of diplomatic ties between the UAE and Israel with the signing of the Abraham Accords in Washington D.C. on September 15, 2020. Etihad became the first GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) carrier to operate a commercial passenger fight to/from Tel Aviv on October 19, 2020.
The new flights will promote direct inbound tourism to Abu Dhabi and offer Emiratis and UAE residents the opportunity to explore Israel’s historic sites, beaches, restaurants and vibrant nightlife. Inbound flights to Abu Dhabi will be conveniently timed to provide guests with seamless onward connections to Etihad’s global network including destinations in China, India, Thailand and Australia.
In Monday’s announcement, Etihad Aviation Group’s Chief Operating Officer, Mohammad Al Bulooki, said,
“The commencement of scheduled flights is a historic moment and as an airline, cements Etihad’s commitment to growing opportunities for trade and tourism not just between the two countries but also within the region and beyond.”
Guests flying to, from and via Abu Dhabi will experience the airline’s comprehensive ‘Etihad Wellness’ sanitization and safety program, with the highest international hygiene standards at every step of the journey. Etihad is the first airline to deploy specially trained ‘Wellness Ambassadors’ who provide essential travel health information and care, both on the ground and onboard, so guests can fly with greater confidence and peace of mind.
