Air Canada’s Inaugural Flight Between Toronto and Rio de Janeiro Touches Down in Brazil

Air Canada has announced that their inaugural flight from Toronto landed in Rio de Janeiro on Friday morning, December 5, 2025. The new seasonal route will operate three times weekly through the end of March 2026.

On Friday (December 5, 2025), Air Canada announced the arrival of their inaugural flight from Toronto to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Prior to departure on Thursday (December 4th), a special ceremony was held at Toronto Pearson International Airport. The new seasonal route will now operate three times weekly through March 2026. Air Canada’s Rio flights will be operated with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner offering Signature Class, Premium Economy and Economy class cabins. Aeroplan members also benefit from free texting onboard, sponsored by Bell.
In Friday’s announcement, Air Canada’s VP – Network Planning, Alexandre Lefevre, said,
“We are thrilled to introduce non-stop seasonal service between Toronto and Rio de Janeiro, connecting two vibrant cities and offering Canadians more opportunities to experience Brazil’s rich culture and stunning landscapes. This route reflects Air Canada’s commitment to expanding our international network and providing our customers with exceptional travel options.”
Also commenting on the new route launch, RIOgaleão Airport’s CEO, Alexandre Monteiro, added,
