On Tuesday (July 9, 2024), Etihad Airways announced that they will increase frequencies on their route between Abu Dhabi and Boston from four weekly flights to daily service starting October 27, 2024. The flights will be operated with a state-of-the -art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner featuring 28 Business Class and 262 Economy Class seats.  Onboard, guests will enjoy the inflight entertainment (IFE) system, in-seat power, inflight Wi-Fi connectivity, and world-class service and hospitality.  The increase in service to Boston is based on strong performance, and comes just three months after the route was introduced.  Boston is Etihad’s fourth U.S. gateway, joining Chicago, New York and Washington, D.C.

In Tuesday’s announcement, Etihad Airways’ Chief Revenue and Chief Commercial Officer, Arik De, said,

“Our Boston service continues to perform strongly, with our flights near capacity since our inaugural flight in Boston this March.  Having already experienced record passenger demand, we’re excited to invest further in the North American market by expanding our flight frequency out of Boston ahead of the peak winter travel season.”

Etihad’s Boston service has been timed to seamlessly connect via Abu Dhabi to onward destinations in Etihad’s extensive network across the UAE, the Gulf Region and 11 direct routes to India.  Inbound customers to Boston will also enjoy one-stop connectivity to destinations across North America with Etihad’s partner, JetBlue.  As an added convenience, travelers departing Zayed International Airport can clear U.S. immigrations and customs inspection before boarding, as the airport operates the only U.S. Custom and Border Protection (CBP) facility in the Middle East.

Etihad Airways further announced on Tuesday (July 9, 2024), that they will begin operating daily Airbus A350 service between Abu Dhabi and Toronto Pearson International Airport in Canada starting October 27, 2024.  Powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines, the Airbus A350 offers a 25 percent reduction in fuel burn and CO2 emissions compared to the aircraft they replace.

Commenting on the A350 deployment to Toronto, Etihad’s Chief Revenue and Chief Commercial Officer, Arik De, said,

“The Airbus A350 is setting new standards for air travel, with increased efficiencies and comfort.  The introduction of the A350 to Toronto aligns with our strategy to meet increasing customer demand and expand our network.”

Etihad Airways’ Airbus A350 aircraft feature 44 Business Studios which offer enhanced privacy, direct aisle access, and seats that convert into a fully lie-flat 79-inch bed.  Business Class guests also enjoy a generous 18.5-inch IFE screen, noise canceling headphones, wireless charging, and Bluetooth headphone pairing.  They will also enjoy an elevated dining experience onboard with a carefully curated à la carte menu, or the carrier’s signature ‘dine anytime’ service.
