On Friday (May 10, 2024), Emirates announced that they will resume daily service to Edinburgh with an Airbus A350-900 from November 4, 2024.  The route will complement Emirates’ existing daily Airbus A380 service to Glasgow, expanding their schedule to/from Scotland to 14 weekly flights.  Emirates’ Airbus A350-900 will be configured with 32 lie-flat Business Class seats, 21 Premium Economy and 259 Economy Class seats.  Flight EK23 will depart Dubai at 14:50 and touch down in Edinburgh at 19:05.  The return flight, EK24, will depart Edinburgh at 20:40 and land back in Dubai at 08:05+1 (all times local).

Originally, Emirates launched service to Edinburgh in 2018 with a Boeing 777-300ER.  Inbound customers from Edinburgh will also enjoy seamless one-stop access via Dubai to over 130 destinations across Emirates’ global network, including the Maldives, Bangkok, Sydney and Bali.  The airline’s daily Edinburgh service will also boost cargo capacity, allowing Emirates SkyCargo to uplift 16 tonnes of cargo per flight.  The added capacity will improve trade links while supporting local businesses and popular exports such as salmon, shellfish and whisky.

Edinburgh is a popular destination for tourists and business travelers alike.  The city’s Old Town and New Town are both UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and offer something for everyone, from charming streets and historic castles, to a vibrant arts and culture scene.  Visitors will enjoy taking in Edinburgh’s rich history, architectural gems and a thriving literary scene, as well as numerous galleries, museums and musical performances.

As previously announced, Emirates will introduce the Airbus A350-900 to their operating fleet in September 2024, with the initial aircraft serving nine destinations across the Middle East, GCC, West Asia, and Europe.  Edinburgh will become the carrier’s eighth UK destination, expanding Emirates’ UK network to 133 weekly flights to seven gateways, including London Heathrow, London Gatwick, London Stansted, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle and Glasgow.  The carrier currently serves all UK routes with a mix of Boeing 777s and Airbus A380s.  Emirates’ guests enjoy regionally inspired gourmet meals onboard, along with a premium beverage selection and award-winning IFE system, ice, with up to 6,500 channels of on-demand entertainment.
