On Monday (November 25, 2024), Emirates announced that they have taken delivery of their first of 65 Airbus A350s on order. The new A350-900, registration A6-EXA, will embark on its ferry flight from Toulouse (TLS) to Dubai (DXB) at 16:00 local time, marking the first time Emirates has taken delivery of a new aircraft type since 2008. Once arriving in Dubai, the new A350-900 will receive official touches at Emirates Engineering before being officially unveiled at a special event later this week. Today’s ferry flight will be powered by a blend of conventional jet fuel and SAF. The aircraft will enter passenger revenue service in January when it makes its debut flight between Dubai and Edinburgh, followed by eight other destinations across the Middle East, West Asia and Europe.
In a separate press release today (November 25, 2024), Emirates announced the unveiling of an Airbus A380 featuring a bespoke livery commemorating the 125th anniversary of the AC Milan football club. Emirates is the official airline partner and principal partner of the club. Both sides of the A380s fuselage have been adorned with red and black stripes, paying homage to AC Milan’s logo. The club’s official badge displaying Milan’s flag, alongside the ACM acronym and founding year, are also seamlessly emblazoned right next to the ‘Milan 125’ wordmark. Flanking the design on the opposite side is the silhouette of a player in the Emirates 'Fly Better' jersey. AC Milan fans and plane spotters worldwide will have the opportunity to spot the special livery from November 26, 2024.

Emirates’ bespoke AC Milan 125th anniversary livery was fully designed, produced and installed in-house by the Emirates Engineering and Aircraft Appearance Centre teams. Emirates has sponsored AC Milan since September 2007, becoming the top institutional sponsor one year later. The carrier also became AC Milan’s prestigious jersey sponsor ahead of the 2010/2011 season, which has since been seen on AC Milan jerseys during official matches, with nearly 1,000 goals scored by players wearing the jersey.
