On Tuesday (June 22, 2021), Emirates announced a host of summer sports and other cool programming on their award-winning ice inflight entertainment (IFE) system. Guests will enjoy the rescheduled 2020 Summer Olympics and UEFA Euro 2020, and other top sports and leagues like Wimbledon 2021, the British Open, the NBA finals, the PGA tour, MotoGP and more. Emirates’ ice TV Live channels, Sport 24 and Sport 24 Extra, will show UEFA Euro 2020 games, including the final on July 11, 2021. Live TV will also show the rescheduled 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo from July 23, 2021.

Emirates continuously invests in updating their inflight content and in the past year alone has added approximately 100 movies each month to the extensive ice content library, including exclusive content such as HBO’s The Undoing, I Know This Much is True and Betty. Additional summer 2021 ice programming highlights include over 20 nominees and winners from this year’s top film awards such as Nomadland, The Father, Soul, Promising Young Woman and more. For July, top picks on ice include Raya and the Last Dragon, French Exit, Godzilla vs Kong, and The courier, while August highlights include A Quiet Place Part II, Wrath of Man and Mortal Kombat.

Emirates’ guests traveling in all cabins can enjoy up to 4,500 channels of programming of the ice IFE system, including over 1,000 channels for movie buffs and 130 channels for kids. IMG’s Sport 24 and Sport 24 Extra are the first and only live sports channels for the airline industry and are exclusively available from Panasonic Avionics. The channels broadcast 24/7, 365 days a year, connecting guests to premium live content 16 hours per day. The Sports 24 Extra channel offers a choice of the most premium sporting events, broadcasting an additional 150 hours of live content each month.

During 2021, over 30 different global sports leagues, federations and unique events will be shown including the rescheduled 2020 Olympics from Tokyo, UEFA Euro 2020 and the Ryder Cup. The Panasonic Avionics’ IFE and Wi-Fi products are offered on Emirates’ Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 fleets.
