On Thursday (July 1st, 2025) Emirates announced an expansion of the deployment of retrofitted Boeing 777s and Airbus A380s featuring their latest product, including Premium Economy.  The upgraded aircraft will be deployed on existing schedules to Shanghai and Zurich, and will be rolled out on routes to Milan, Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires.  Additionally, the routes to Shanghai and Singapore will be upguaged to Emirates’ flagship Airbus A380 super jumbo aircraft.  The carrier’s ambitious retrofit program is progressing rapidly as one aircraft undergoes a nose-to-tail refresh every three weeks.  Emirates’ engineering teams have retrofitted 60 aircraft since November 2022.

From October 26, 2025, Emirates will ramp up operations with a third daily flight to Milan, EK 101/102, with a Boeing 777-300ER, while the carrier’s linked services to Rio de Janeiro (EK247/248) will become daily.  Additionally, after being served with an upgraded Boeing 777 from July 20th, service to Shanghai (EK302/303) will be upguaged to the iconic A380, while the second daily Shanghai flight  (EK304/305) will be served with a retrofitted Boeing 777.  For winter 2025/26, a third daily flight between Dubai and Singapore (EK 314/315) will be serviced with the airline’s flagship Airbus A380.

Starting February 1st, 2026, Emirates will also upgrade their second daily flight to Zurich (EK85/86) from the current retrofitted Boeing 777 to an Airbus A380, while Premium Economy will debut on flight EK87/88 with a newly retrofitted A380.  Onboard the refreshed aircraft, customers will enjoy a better experience across every cabin class.  The four-class Emirates Boeing 777 features 6 or 8 First Class suites, 38 or 40 Business seats, 24 Premium Economy seats, and 256 Economy seats. On a four-class A380, the Premium Economy cabin is located at the front of the main deck with 56 seats laid out in a 2-4-2 configuration.  Each seat offers a generous pitch and width for working and relaxing, along with customized features like in-seat charging points and a side cocktail table.
