Emirates will expand their codeshare partnership with United Airlines to include nine destinations in Mexico. This is in addition to Mexico City, which is already served by Emirates, and expands the codeshare network to 134 destinations.
On Tuesday (September 5, 2023), Emirates announced a significant expansion of their codeshare partnership with United Airlines to include Mexico, the first country outside the U.S. to be included in the growing network. With the expansion, guests will have access to nine destinations in Mexico, in addition to Mexico City, which Emirates already serves. When flying Emirates to either Chicago of Houston, customers will now enjoy seamless one-stop connectivity via United to Cancun, Cozumel, Monterrey, Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, San Jose Del Cabo, Leon/Guanajuato and Queretaro. Tickets to codeshare destinations in Mexico are now available for booking for travel from September 14, 2023. The newly expanded network now includes 134 destinations, which are accessible from United’s U.S. gateways, while nearly 100 additional points are available through interline agreements.
Emirates offers daily service to Houston with their flagship Airbus A380 aircraft. The carrier recently introduced their latest offering, Premium Economy, on the route to Houston. Additionally, Emirates offers seven weekly flights between Dubai and Chicago with a Boeing 777. Travelers with itineraries on Emirates’ flights can now plan their entire trip on a single ticket and enjoy a generous baggage allowance and convenient bag check-through to the final destination, as well as the opportunity to earn and redeem miles on codeshare flights on both airlines. Note: baggage check-through is for flights out of Mexico. International travelers flying to destinations in Mexico on Emirates and United codeshare flights must clear their baggage with U.S. Customs at the first point of entry in Chicago or Houston.
