Emerald Airlines has today taken delivery of their 6th ATR 72-600 on lease from Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC), expanding their fleet to 13 aircraft. Emerald is the exclusive operator for Aer Lingus Regional, and NAC is the world’s largest regional aircraft lessor.
On Thursday (June 9, 2022), Emerald Airlines, the exclusive operator for Aer Lingus Regional, announced the delivery of their 6th ATR 72-600 on lease from Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC), the world’s largest regional aircraft lessor. The delivery expands Emerald’s fleet to a total of 13 aircraft. The ATR 72-600 forms the backbone of Emerald’s fleet, as the aircraft sets the standard for short-haul flights, due to its short takeoff and landing capabilities, while offering the best fuel efficiency and lowest emissions in its class. Compared to a similar-sized regional jet, the annual environmental footprint of an ATR 72-600 is 4,000 tonnes less.
Accepting the delivery from NAC in Toulouse, Emerald Airlines’ Director of Engineering and Fleet, Richard Spencer, said,
“We are delighted to have accepted our 6th ATR72 aircraft from NAC. The ATR72 is an essential part of our strategy at Emerald Airlines – offering high frequency, convenient, and affordable air travel across Ireland and the U.K. We would like to thank the team at NAC for their belief and support and look forward to adding this aircraft to our growing fleet.”
Also commenting on Emerald’s latest aircraft delivery, Nordic Aviation Capital’s Senior Vice President – Marketing, Emanuele Andreta, added,
“NAC is very proud to be a partner with Emerald Airlines. In delivering our 6th aircraft to Emerald, we are grateful to have built a strong relationship over a short period with Emerald’s Technical and Management Team.”
