Embraer Signs MRO Contract With CommuteAir for Their New Dallas-Fort Worth Maintenance Facility

Embraer has announced the signing of a maintenance contract with CommuteAir for their new MRO facilities dedicated to commercial aircraft at Perot Field Alliance Airport in Fort Worth, Texas.

On Thursday (June 26, 2025), Embraer announced that CommuteAir has signed a new MRO contract for their newly opened maintenance facility dedicated to commercial aircraft at Perot Field Alliance Airport in Fort Worth, Texas. Under the agreement, Embraer will provide MRO services for the Embraer aircraft operating in CommuteAir’s fleet. In partnership with the City of Fort Worth and the State of Texas, Embraer began operations in an existing hangar on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, while building a second hangar that is expected to be completed in 2027. With the new facilities, Embraer’s capacity to serve our customers is expected to increase by 53 percent in the United States.
In Thursday’s announcement, CommuteAir’s VP – Technical Operations, Lon Ziegler, said,
“CommuteAir is pleased to strengthen its partnership with Embraer by commencing heavy airframe maintenance at its new facility in Fort Worth. By working with our aircraft OEM, we will support our goals of ensuring the highest reliability for our ERJ145 fleet.”
Also commenting on the new MRO contract, Embraer’s Vice President MRO Services, Embraer Services & Support, Frank Stevens, said,
“This contract with CommuteAir is an important milestone for Embraer. We will provide best-in-class support for CommuteAir and reduce downtime. We have a long-term relationship with CommuteAir, and today we are starting a new chapter with this new facility. We are excited to welcome CommuteAir here at the Perot Field Alliance Airport.”
Cleveland, Ohio-based CommuteAir is a United Express partner, and operates over 200 daily flights with 59 Embraer ERJ145s for United Airlines. CommuteAir also offers Embraer E170 charter services under their own brand. The carrier also has hubs at Houston Intercontinental and Washington Dulles airports, as well as maintenance hangars in Houston, Texas and Albany, New York.
