Embraer has conducted a demonstration flight in South Korea flying from Gimpo Airport in Seoul to Pohang, over Ulleungdo Island and back. The E190-E2 conducted a simulated short runway landing at Pohang Airport with a 1,066 meter runway.

On Tuesday (May 16, 2023), Embraer announced the successful completion of a simulated short runway landing with an E190-E2 in South Korea. The demonstration flight departed Gimpo Airport in Seoul for Pohang, over Ulleungdo Island and back. With over 80 guests onboard, the E190-E2 conducted a simulated short runway landing at Pohang Airport over a runway distance of only 1,066 meters. This exceptional short runway performance uniquely positions the E190-E2 as the only narrowbody aircraft that can access a 1,200 meter runway, rain or shine, such as the new Ulleungdo Island Airport, which is scheduled for completion in 2025.
