Edelweiss to Take Over Two Airbus A320s from SWISS

During 2025/26 Edelweiss will take over one Airbus A320 and on Airbus A320 from Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS), expanding their short-haul fleet to 16 aircraft by April 2026.

On Tuesday (August 19, 2025), Edelweiss announced that they will be taking over two aircraft from sister company SWISS. An Airbus A320, registration HB-JLQ, will join Edelweiss in mid-October 2025, while the second aircraft, anA320neo, registration HB-JDB, will join the carrier in April 2026. With this fleet expansion, Edelweiss strengthens their position at the carrier's Zurich hub, while expanding their short-haul fleet to 16 aircraft.
In Tuesday’s announcement, Edelweiss’ CEO, Bernd Bauer, said,
“I am delighted that Edelweiss is continuing to develop on short- and medium-haul routes and that we are taking an important step towards modernising our short-haul fleet with the first Airbus A320neo. The aircraft combines state-of-the-art, environmentally friendly technology with greater comfort for our guests.”
