On Thursday (September 11, 2025), Edelweiss announced that they will add five more Airbus A320neos to their fleet in 2027 and 2028. Currently, these aircraft in service with fellow Lufthansa Group carrier, Austrian Airlines. The two additional aircraft are planned for growth, expanding the carrier’s future short-haul fleet to 18 aircraft.
With advanced aerodynamics, state-of-the-art Pratt & Whitney GTF engines, and sharklets, the Airbus A320neo reduces fuel burn and CO2 emissions by up to 20 percent compared to previous generation aircraft, and also has a 50 percent smaller noise footprint.
