Edelweiss’ first long-haul Airbus A350-900 flight took to the skies on Thursday (May 15th), with 200 passengers to Las Vegas. The carrier’s second A350 will be deployed on daily Zurich-Vancouver service from July 2025.

On Thursday (May 15, 2025), Edelweiss celebrated the launch of their first long-haul Airbus A350-900 flights with service to Las Vegas, Nevada (LAS). With 200 passengers aboard, the launch marks a substantial milestone in the carrier’s history, with the new, state-of-the-art aircraft offering a more comfortable, quieter and more sustainable experience. In celebration of the occasion, an exclusive, souvenir, a specially designed ‘Remove before 1st Flight’ tag with an engraved plaque bearing the individual seat number, was waiting for every guest at each seat.
The deployment of the A350 marks the start of a new era for Edelweiss on long-haul routes, as the new widebody jets gradually replace the airline’s existing Airbus A340 fleet. The modern, widebody A350-900 delivers an approximately 25 percent reduction in fuel use and emissions, and is up to 50 percent quieter than its predecessor. Currently, Edelweiss’ A350 will operate three times weekly between Zurich and Las Vegas. The second of a total of six A350s is expected to arrive in Zurich at the end of June, before being deployed daily on the Zurich-Vancouver route from July 1st, 2025.
