On Thursday (July 1st, 2021), easyJet announced a new partnership with Boots UK to provide more convenient COVID-19 testing options, making it easier for customers to travel abroad. easyJet guests will be able to access the Boots COVID-19 testing services via easyJet.com or directly through the Boots Testing Hub on boots.com. With easyJet flying from 18 UK airports and over 200 Boots locations offering in-store testing nationwide, customers can find and book their Boots COVID-19 testing, regardless of where they are flying from. Following the restart of international leisure travel in the UK, customers will be able to book the required tests both before and after their holiday.

In Thursday’s announcement, easyJet’s Chief Commercial Officer, Sophie Dekkers, said,

“At easyJet we’re focused on ensuring travel is easy and accessible for all and that is especially important this summer. We’re delighted to be partnering with Boots to provide customers with more direct access to trusted testing services, making it easier to travel this summer.”

Boots UK’s Director of Healthcare Services, Asif Aziz, added,

“This new partnership between Boots and easyJet is designed to make lives easier for people who are travelling abroad this summer. At Boots we are proud of our COVID-19 travel testing offer, which provides a range of options to customers, available online or in our stores. We plan to work closely with easyJet in the coming weeks and months to help their passengers navigate the requirements around COVID-19 testing for passengers and provide competitively priced solutions.”

Customers can book pre-departure in-store COVID-19 PCR testing for £85 at over 200 Boots stores with results offered the next day. As an alternative, travelers can purchase an at-home self-swab PCR test kit for £65 at over 500 boots stores or online at boots.com. The results of the at-home test will be available from 24-48 hours after the sample is received at the lab. easyJet guests traveling to countries which accept antigen tests can book an in-store rapid antigen test with same-day results at 30 Boots stores for £59.

Additionally, Boots offers a day 2 and 8 post-travel COVID-19 testing service for international arrivals to the UK, and is also accredited for the government’s ‘Test to Release’ scheme, offering next day results. Under the scheme, inbound UK travelers can reduce their at-home quarantine by taking a voluntary test on the fifth full day after arriving in England from an ‘amber’ list country.
