On Tuesday (April 27, 2021), easyJet announced the launch of a new summer seasonal route between Cornwall Airport Newquay and London Gatwick. The new route will operate three times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, providing convenient direct connections to and from the South West Coast. The route will launch on June 8th and will operate through October 30, 2021. Celebrating the new route, easyJet has launched a sale with return fares starting at only £53.98.

In Tuesday’s announcement, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, Ali Gayward, said,

“We are pleased to announce the launch of our new service between Newquay and London Gatwick Airport which we are confident will be popular with customers planning to take to the skies once it is safe to do so. This is an exciting route for customers wishing to visit Cornwall for a much needed break and to reconnect with friends and family and will equally benefit those in Cornwall with a convenient link to London. Our Protection Promise means that customers can book with confidence knowing that if they are unable to travel or their plans change so can their flights or holiday. We will offer customers refunds if they are impacted by a travel ban, even if their flight is not canceled, which is industry leading; giving consumers both the confidence to book and travel.

“We continue to focus on providing more direct domestic connectivity for customers and will be ready to ramp up our flights to ensure we can take our customers away to see friends and family or on long-awaited holiday breaks by providing great value services to our customers by offering low fares, and more choice when they travel.”

Also commenting on the new route launch, Cornwall Airport Newquay’s Managing Director, Pete Downes, added,

“We’re delighted to see London Gatwick added to the growing network of easyJet routes at Cornwall Airport Newquay this summer. I am certain that this new route will be especially welcomed by Cornish residents who have long told us they want to see more great value flights to London. It will also provide a fast and convenient travel option for those in London and the South East dreaming of a domestic break in Cornwall this summer.”
