Over this past weekend, easyJet launched their first flight between Glasgow and Newquay, providing customers in Scotland more domestic connections for summer. Flights are now available for flexible booking from only £22.99.
On Tuesday (June 1, 2021), easyJet announced that they launched their first flight from Glasgow to Newquay over the weekend, providing more domestic summer connectivity to customers in Scotland. Customers will enjoy a flexible booking policy and one-way fares from only £22.99 per person, based on two passengers traveling on the same booking. Newquay is located on Cornwall’s Atlantic Coast and is one of the UK’s most popular seaside destinations, offering sandy beaches, surfing and local attractions. The route will operate twice-weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays throughout the peak summer season, providing customers in Scotland direct service to the Cornish coast in around 90 minutes.
In Tuesday’s announcement, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, Ali Gayward, said,
“We are delighted to be celebrating the launch of our new service from Glasgow to Newquay for the first time, further strengthening our domestic UK network and providing more opportunity for our customers in Scotland to book a trip this summer. Our Protection Promise means that customers can book with confidence knowing that if they are unable to travel or if their plans change, so can their flights, and we are looking forward to reuniting friends and family or take customers on long-awaited holiday.
Also commenting last weekend on the route launch, Glasgow Airport’s Operations Director, Ronald Leitch, said,
“We are absolutely thrilled to see this new route in the skies today. easyJet’s decision earlier this year to introduce what is a brand new destination for the airline has proved extremely popular with Scottish travellers looking to enjoy a staycation in one of England’s most popular coastal areas.
easyJet customers can now change their flights this summer without fees any time up to two hours prior to departure, or request a voucher for added flexibility. There are no restrictions on dates or destinations and customers can rebook on any flight currently on sale through September 2022 to any destination across 35 countries in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. Additionally, if a mandatory destination hotel quarantine is implemented, customers can request a full refund for their flight within four weeks prior to departure if the restriction is still in place, even if their flights are still operating.
easyJet carries nearly 100 million passengers annually on around 1,000 routes to over 150 airports in 35 countries. The airline has a fleet of over 300 aircraft and over 300 million Europeans live within an hour’s drive of an airport served by easyJet. The just over 25 year old low-cost carrier is dedicated to innovation and leads the industry in digital, web, engineering and operational efficiencies. easyJet was named “Britain’s Most Admired Company” in the transport sector for 2020, based on the longest running annual corporate reputation study in the UK.
