On Monday (August 18, 2025), easyJet announced that as part of their annual recruitment drive, they are launching a new ‘Flight Paths’ initiative, focused on young Brits aged 18-24 ‘not in employment, education or training’, or so-called NEETS, to consider a career as a cabin crew member.  According to the carrier, UK youth unemployment reached 628,000 during the period from March through May 2025, up 31,000 or 5.2 percent compared to the same period last year.  Therefore, easyJet is offering cabin crew taster sessions this month at their London Gatwick Training Centre for 18-24 year old candidates.  easyJet projects that approximately 1,000 cabin crew roles will be available for 2026.

In Monday’s announcement, easyJet’s Director of Cabin Services, Michael Brown, said,

“We want to show young people that being cabin crew is more than just a job - it’s a career filled with variety, teamwork and opportunity, which has so much to offer to so many people as well as offering a pathway to progress in working within our wider industry too.  If you have enthusiasm, people skills and a willingness to learn something new, our taster sessions could be the perfect first step towards a new opportunity.  We can’t wait to welcome a new generation of cabin crew on board.”

Also commenting on the launch of easyJet’s ‘Flight Paths’ initiative, the UK’s Aviation Minister, Kike Kane, added,

“It’s fantastic to see British firm easyJet investing in our young people, encouraging and inspiring them into careers in aviation.  We are determined to break down barriers to opportunity in the UK to deliver our Plan for Change so everyone can pursue and progress in rewarding careers.”

The Flight Paths initiative is the latest in easyJet’s ongoing work to support early career and youth employment, including their Enterprise Advisors Programme - which sees easyJet employees from across the business including Engineering, IT, Data and Operations partnered with local schools in the Luton and Gatwick areas.  As previously mentioned, easyJet is opening the doors of their London Gatwick Training Centre this summer to offer free hands-on taster sessions, providing the opportunity for young Brits to find out more about the job directly from the airline’s cabin crew and training experts.  Interested candidates can book their place here.
