easyJet Announces Early Opening of Newcastle Base with More Flights on Sale

easyJet has today announced that they will open their Newest UK base at Newcastle Airport early, with more flights across 19 routes and 11 new routes.

On Monday (September 8, 2025), easyJet announced that they will be opening their new three-aircraft Newcastle base early, meaning even more flights will now be available from Newcastle starting March 22, 2026. The new three-aircraft base has enabled the carrier to expand their Newcastle network with 11 new routes. In addition to eight key existing domestic and international services from Newcastle, easyJet is now offering customers flights on 19 routes across the UK, Europe and North Africa. Customers from the North East, Southern Scotland, North Yorkshire and Cumbria now have much more choice when booking their 2026 holidays.
In Monday’s announcement, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, Kevin Doyle, said,

“With flights on new routes launching early, we’re offering our customers in the North East, Southern Scotland, North Yorkshire and Cumbria more choice when booking their Easter holidays next year and we can’t wait to welcome them onboard.”
Also commenting on easyJet’s new base and network expansion, Newcastle Airport’s Director of Aviation Development, Leon McQuaid, added,
“It’s fantastic that easyJet will open its base at Newcastle Airport ahead of schedule, with flights to 11 new destinations taking off earlier than planned, including a brand-new direct service to Nice. This investment underlines easyJet’s long-term commitment to the Airport, delivering hundreds of thousands of additional low-cost seats and great-value package holidays for our passengers. This also builds on the popular destinations the airline already serves, including Alicante, Amsterdam, Geneva, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca, Paris, Bristol and Belfast.
“We look forward to celebrating with easyJet when the new routes take off and to announcing even more exciting new destinations soon.”
New routes from Newcastle for summer 2026 include service to Antalya and Dalaman in Turkey, Greek Islands Rhodes and Corfu, Algarve gateway Faro in Portugal, as well as Malta, Prague, the Spanish city of Reus, plus an exclusive route connecting Newcastle to Nice. Additionally, direct service between Newcastle and North Africa includes new flights to the popular Egyptian resort of Sharm-El-Sheikh and Enfidha in Tunisia. Antalya and Enfidha will start on March 22nd, Malaga on March 23rd, Nice and Dalaman on March 24tt, Alicante on March 26th, and Malta on March 28th.
This will be followed by flights to Reus on March 31st, and flights to Corfu on April 3rd, as well as service to Prague from August 2nd, and two weekly flights to Sharm El Sheikh starting August 3rd, 2025.
