Discover Airlines has announced plans to expand their fleet to 40 aircraft by mid-2028. From mid-2027 the carrier will gradually integrate four Airbus A350-900s, which will initially be deployed on existing routes such as Windhoek and Orlando.

On Thursday (October 16, 2025), Discover Airlines announced plans to expand their fleet to 40 aircraft by mid-2028. The future flagship of the carrier’s long-haul fleet is set to be the state-of-the-art Airbus A350-900, four of which will gradually be integrated into the fleet from mid-2027. Initially, the A350-900 could be used on existing Discover Airlines routes such as Windhoek or Orlando, and thanks to its long range, it also opens up the possibility of flying to leisure destinations that cannot be reached with the current fleet, such as South and Central America, southern Africa, and Southeast Asia.
In Thursday’s announcement, Discover Airlines’ CEO, Bernd Bauer, said,
“With the further development and expansion of our fleet – including the planned deployment of the Airbus A350 – we are further strengthening our existing offering, with even more comfort and attractive options for our guests. Additional aircraft, greater range, and a new cabin product will enable us to respond even better to the needs of travelers. We look forward to flying even more people on vacation in the future, while at the same time making an important contribution to strengthening the Lufthansa Group in the leisure and private travel segment. Now it is time for us to quickly create the conditions for integrating the Airbus A350 into our fleet.”
Currently, Discover Airlines operates a fleet of 30 aircraft, including 14 Airbus A330 long-haul aircraft and 16 Airbus A320 short- and medium-haul aircraft. In addition to the four long-haul Airbus A350-900s, Discover will also add two more Airbus A320s to their short and medium haul fleet in 2026, followed by two more by mid-2028, expanding their A320 fleet to 20 aircraft. The carrier will also retire three Airbus A330-200s in 2026, while adding five A330-300s to their long-haul fleet. By the end of 2026, the carrier’s long-haul fleet will include 16 aircraft, all of which will be A330-300s. These aircraft will all be equipped with a next-generation cabin in all three travel classes.
