Discover Airlines has announced an expansion of their fleet to 33 aircraft by mid-2027 with the addition of six Airbus A330-300s and three A320s. In 2027, the carrier will also introduce a new A330 long-haul product across all three classes.
On Wednesday (August 21, 2024), Discover Airlines announced the addition of six Airbus A330-300s by mid-2027 and three Airbus A320s by 2025, expanding their fleet to 33 aircraft. Additionally, from 2027, the carrier will gradually complete the renewal of all three classes on their Airbus A330 fleet. During 2026, three Airbus A330-200s are scheduled to leave the carrier’s fleet as leases expire. Since launching, Discover Airlines has deployed Airbus A330s on long-haul routes and A320s and short and medium-haul routes.
In Wednesday’s announcement, Discover Airlines’ CEO, Bernd Bauer, said,
“Following our launch three years ago and the successful build-up of our airline, we are now taking the next steps to further consolidate our position as a leisure airline in Germany and to sustainably strengthen the Lufthansa Group's market presence in the growing leisure travel segment. With additional capacity and the upgrade to a next-generation product, we will be able to serve the leisure travel segment even more comprehensively, efficiently and flexibly in the future. We look forward to accompanying even more people on their holiday in the future.”
As previously mentioned, Discover Airlines will introduce their newest generation cabin product on their A330 fleet. In addition to an all aisle access configuration in Business Class, the cabin refresh will include new, more comfortable seats, and a new IFE system with larger screens with better resolution in all three classes. Further details on the new product are currently being finalized and will be announced in the future.
