For the winter 2024/25 season, Discover Airlines will add exclusive twice weekly service from Frankfurt to Alta in Norway, as well as once weekly service to Kittilä in the Finnish Lapland. Flights on both routes will be bookable from January 18, 2024.
On Tuesday (January 16, 2024), Discover Airlines announced an expansion of their winter 2024/25 flying program with new routes to Norway and Finland. The carrier will add two weekly flights between Frankfurt and Alta in Norway, as well as once weekly service to Kittilä in the Finnish Lapland. Flights on both routes will be available for booking from January 18, 2024. For summer 2024, Discover Airlines will also offer service to Evenes in Norway.
From December 16, 2024, and March 27, 2025, Discover Airlines will offer two weekly flights on Thursdays and Sundays from Frankfurt to Alta Airport (ALF) in northern Norway. Located around 230 kilometers North Cape in the province of Finnmark, Alta is one of the northernmost communities in the world. From the end of November through mid-January the sun never rises, making Alta one of the best locations to view the spectacular Northern Lights. Alta also serves as the ideal starting point for a range of Arctic adventures such as dog sledding, northern lights safaris, skiing, overnight stays in igloo hotels, whale watching, ice fishing and more.
Discover Airlines’ service between Frankfurt and Kittilä Airport (KTT) in Finland will operate once weekly on Fridays from December 20, 2024, through March 28, 2025. Located approximately 200 kilometers from the Arctic Circle, Kittilä is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Finland. Located in close proximity to the airport, the Levi winter sports area is the largest and best known winter centers in Finland. In addition to winter sports, visitors to Kittilä can also enjoy reindeer and dog sled safaris and snowshoe hikes, along with a diverse range of local art and culture.
