On Monday (October 2, 2023), Delta Air Lines announced that under their Joint Cooperation Agreement (JCA) with Aeromexico, the Mexican carrier will launch 17 transborder routes from seven airports, increasing capacity by over 30 percent. The transborder network expansion will be gradually rolled out from January 2024 and will include service to nine U.S. destinations, with all flights to be codeshared with Delta Air Lines. With the new routes and added frequencies, Aeromexico will operate nearly 60 daily departures to the U.S. by July 2024, a 35 percent year-over-year increase.

In total, by 2024, the Delta-Aeromexico JCA will offer over 90 daily flights between Mexico and the U.S. on nearly 60 routes. Aeromexico’s increase in routes and capacity has been made possible by the addition of over 50 new aircraft, most of them state-of-the-art Boeing 737 MAX Family jets. As previously announced, Aeromexico will also operate more than 1,000 flights per month at Felipe Angeles International Airport (AIFA) starting this month. Customers of both airlines benefit from the JCA with seamless check-in powered by SkyTeam technology, free onboard messaging via Wi-Fi (where available), and consistent baggage policies.
