Delta will expand service across their trans-Atlantic network for summer 2023 with eight percent more seats versus summer 2022. In addition to the resumption of service to Stuttgart and Berlin, the carrier will offer seven new European flights.
On Friday (September 23, 2022), Delta Air Lines announced an expansion of their summer 2023 European network offer with eight percent more seats across their trans-Atlantic network compared to summer 2022. In addition to the resumption of service to Stuttgart and Berlin, both currently on sale, Delta will add seven new flights including direct service to Geneva for the first time since 1993, as well as long-haul flights from Los Angeles (LAX) to both London Heathrow and Paris.
In Friday’s announcment, Delta Air Lines’ Senior Vice President – Network Planning, Joe Esposito, said,
“Next summer, Delta will give customers expanded access to popular destinations across the trans-Atlantic, continuing to solidify its position as the number-one carrier in New York. With nearly 620 weekly flights and connectivity to 32 destinations in Europe and beyond, customers will have a wealth of iconic destinations to explore and an unmatched journey to enjoy across the pond.”
Flights from New York-JFK to Geneva and London-Gatwick will start on April 10th, while daily flights to Berlin will resume on May 25th. Delta will also add a third daily seasonal service between New York-JFK and Rome from May 25, 2023.
With around 800 peak-day flights, Delta is the largest international carrier in Atlanta, with the hub also serving as the largest global connector. For summer 2023, Delta will add 11 weekly flights to three trans-Atlantic destinations from Atlanta including three weekly flights to Düsseldorf from May 9th and five weekly seasonal flights to Edinburgh from May 25th. Additionally, the carrier will resume three weekly flights to Stuttgart beginning March 26, 2023.
Delta is also the largest global airline operating out of LAX, offering flights to exotic destinations such as Tahiti. For summer 2023, the airline will also relaunch flights from Los Angeles to cities that haven’t been serviced in years, including daily service to Paris from May 8th and to London-Heathrow starting March 25, 2023.
