On Tuesday (September 20, 2022), Delta Air Lines announced the rollout of an enhanced Delta Premium Select (DPS) onboard guest experience, which is available on all trans-Pacific and most trans-Atlantic flights. In addition to the popular spacious seat design the product is known for, enhancements include locally-inspired dining, premium hand-crafted amenities and more dedicated service touchpoints. Delta debuted DPS in 2017 on select international routes and has since expanded the product to more routes and aircraft types.

In Tuesday’s announcement, Delta’s Vice President of Brand Experience, Mauricio Parise, said,

“Delta Premium Select sits at the intersection of luxury and practicality – giving customers the opportunity to treat themselves to a more spacious seat and premium experience at a lower price point compared to our Delta One cabin. We continue to debut premium products designed for the future of travel, with differentiated offerings that give our customers the experiences they crave.”

Speaking on the enhanced DPS dining experience, Delta’s Managing Director of Onboard Service, Mike Henny, said,

“At Delta, we know a good meal can make a great experience on Delta flights even better. When designing our Delta Premium Select menu, we reimagined our food and beverage offerings from scratch, and we’re excited to launch delicious new offerings that also highlight our premium service and culture of innovation.”

From September 20, 2022, the new Delta Premium Select menu options include dishes such as braised short rib with fingerling potatoes and green peppercorn jus; impossible meatballs with polenta, pomodorini sauce, and broccolini; honey harissa chicken thighs with jollof rice and stewed greens; along with a dessert of mango mousse with mango passion fruit compote. Additionally, guests will be served their main courses on plates made from sugarcane plant fiber, with linen napkins, silver flatware and glassware. They will also enjoy more dedicated service touchpoints, like a ‘bubbles and bites’ moment with sparkling wine, water and a special treat shortly after takeoff, as well as a premium snack basket.

Starting this October, delta will phase in new amenity kits by Someone Somewhere, which feature Grown Alchemist travel essentials and other premium products that help make the journey more comfortable. The new amenity kits will come in three designs that artisans at Someone Somewhere have created exclusively for Delta. During the month of October, select Delta flights on departure from the U.S will feature a pink comfort kit in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. DPS guests will also enjoy specially curated, natural skincare products by Grown Alchemist, a leader in clean beauty, including vanilla watermelon lip balm in the amenity kit, as well as a vanilla and orange peel oshibori hand towel, which will be handed out before the first meal.
