On Thursday (May 11, 2023), Delta Air Lines announced the rollout of Delta Sync Exclusives, a unique digital platform that curates the onboard guest experience, which will soon be available on flights equipped with free Wi-Fi presented by T-Mobile. First announced at CES 2023, the new experience for mobile devices brings together exclusive content, access, and offers. The platform is now being tested on select aircraft and will be fully rolling out this summer. To use Delta Sync, guests simply connect to onboard Wi-Fi and log in with their SkyMiles credentials.

In Thursday’s announcement, Delta Air Lines’ SVP – Customer Experience Design, Ranjan Goswami, said,

“Delta Sync Exclusives is an entirely new platform for entertainment and discovery designed to elevate the experience for every customer. Customers deserve a journey that feels seamlessly fit for them, and that means delivering meaningful, personalized and relevant touch points in compelling new ways. Our recent launch of free Wi-Fi with T-Mobile unlocks what is possible—it gives us a new set of tools and opportunities to elevate the customer experience onboard.

“We make a habit of listening, learning and innovating based on what we hear from customers about the experiences that make travel on Delta unique and rewarding. As we refine and enhance Delta Sync Exclusives in the months ahead, our goal is to build a platform that is familiar, evermore personalized and helpful that customers can come back to across their journey.”

Testing for Delta Sync Exclusives started in late April, and the carrier plans on introducing the platform on over 540 aircraft with fast, free Wi-Fi by the end of July 2023, and more than 700 domestic mainline aircraft by the end of the year. By the end of 2024, Delta will bring the platform and high-speed Wi-Fi to their entire global fleet. Delta’s guests will be able to use the browser-based experience to choose ‘My Exclusives’ for entertainment, access and offers from mainstay brands. Users can also click the ‘My Trip’ tab for inspiration on what awaits at their destination, along with other information about their journey.

Sync Exclusives is loaded with experiences and offers available only to SkyMiles Members. Once logged in, customers will be greeted with a welcome message and land on the ‘My Exclusives’ screen with a curated set of tiles leading to experiences, entertainment and exclusive offers. At the start of the rollout, users will be able to access a free trial to Paramount+, play New York Times Games favorites, and explore special offers from T-Mobile, American Express, and more. Customers can also conveniently access their SkyMiles loyalty offers via Delta Sync Exclusives, and an interactive dashboard ensures the customer’s SkyMiles account is also linked to partner offers from Starbucks to Lyft.

Through the ‘My Trip’ tab, users can book a table at a restaurant via Resy, or view specially curated dining guides on select routes. They can also find inspiration with exclusive video and editorial content from Atlas Obscura, and explore awe-inspiring destinations. Additionally, Delta Sync Exclusives offers familiar self-service tools, resources and insights that offer real-time support.
