Delta Air Lines Inks Long Term Codeshare Agreement With EL AL

Delta Air Lines has today announced the launch of a long-term codeshare agreement with EL AL.  From January 1st, 2024, the new codeshare agreement will enhance connectivity between the Americas and Tel Aviv, and will also offer reciprocal loyalty benefits.

On Monday (December 18, 2023), Delta Air Lines announced the signing of a new long-term codeshare partnership with EL AL, which will enhance connectivity between the Americas and Tel Aviv starting January 1st, 2024.  Additionally, the airlines will offer reciprocal codeshare and frequent flyer benefits, including the ability to earn and redeem SkyMiles or Matmid points.  Delta customers flying from North America will now enjoy seamless connectivity on EL Al’s nonstop flights to Tel Aviv from New York (JFK and EWR), Los Angeles (LAX), Boston (BOS), Miami (MIA) and Fort Lauderdale (FLL).  EL AL’s marketing code will also be added to Delta’s nonstop flights to Tel Aviv (when resumed), as well as on up to 280 same day connections across Delta’s network from New York-JFK, Boston and Los Angeles.


In Monday’s announcement, Delta Air Lines’ President – International, Alain Bellemare, said,


“Delta remains steadfast in our long-time commitment to serving consumers and businesses who depend on convenient, high-quality air service to and from Tel Aviv.  Through our codeshare agreement with EL AL, we will offer customers more convenient travel options between North America and Israel.


Also commenting on the new codeshare partnership, EL AL’s VP – Commercial and Industry Affairs, Shlomi Zafrany, said,


“The start of this codeshare agreement between Delta Air Lines and EL AL offers customers access to convenient one-stop services from Israel to cities throughout the Americas and welcomes new North American customers to EL AL's world class service to and from Tel Aviv.”


EL Al’s CEO, Dina Ben Tal Ganancia, added,


“We are proud on this cooperation with Delta whom I see as a valued long-term partner.”


Effective January 15, 2023, both carriers will offer reciprocal benefits to their top tier frequent flyer program members, including preferred seat access, priority check-in and boarding, additional baggage allowance and lounge access (where available).
