On Wednesday (October 12, 2022), Delta Air Lines announced that their Delta SkyMiles program has launched a new loyalty partnership with Starbucks Rewards. Members can now link their accounts at deltastarbucks.com or starbucksdelta.com, and once linked will earn one mile per $1.00 spent on eligible Starbucks purchases. As an added benefit, on days when members have a scheduled Delta flight, they will earn double Stars on eligible purchases at participating Starbucks stores. The new benefit is available to both current and new members of the companies’ loyalty programs.

In Wednesday’s announcement, Delta Air Lines’ Vice President of Loyalty, Prashant Sharma, said,

“We’re continuing to evolve Delta’s SkyMiles program to give our customers valuable, premium experiences not just on the days they travel but in their everyday lives as well. Through this new partnership with Starbucks, we can deliver more moments and interactions that matter, both in the air and on the ground.”

Also commenting on the new loyalty collaboration, Starbucks’ Vice President - Loyalty Strategy and Marketing, Ryan Butz, said,

“Starbucks Rewards and Delta SkyMiles are centered on creating moments of meaningful connection, and by bringing together two of the country’s most celebrated loyalty programs we are able to reward our members with more of what they love. We are excited to partner with Delta to offer our members even more valuable benefits, as well as invite more customers to join Starbucks Rewards.”

In addition to earning one mile per $1.00 spent on qualifying purchases at Starbucks and double Stars on the day of a scheduled Delta flight, customers who link their accounts from October 12th through December 31, 2022 will earn an additional 500 miles, and 150 Stars after making a qualifying purchase. As previously announced, Diamond and Platinum SkyMiles Members will be able to select 4,000 Stars as one of their annual Choice Benefits in 2024. Further celebrating the partnership launch, Delta passengers on flights departing Seattle today (October 12, 2022), will receive a ‘Star Card’ valid for 150 Stars that can be redeemed toward a beverage on their next Starbucks visit.
