On Wednesday (September 28, 2022) Condor announced the launch of an innovative new service where Economy Class customers on select flights can book their own overhead bin from €9.99, guaranteeing sufficient storage space for the carry-on baggage included in the fare booked. Initially, the service will be available on select long-haul flights operated with an Airbus A330-200 from November 1st, 2022. A reservation can be made from 48 hours prior to departure on the carrier’s website under the ‘My Booking’ tab, and up to three hours before departure at online check-in.

In Wednesday’s announcement, Condor’s CEO, Ralf Teckentrup, said,

“Many travellers are familiar with this situation: you are sitting at the gate, boarding begins and you wonder whether your hand baggage will still find a place in the overhead compartment. Condor guests can now relax and simply reserve their own baggage compartment online in advance - ideally directly in combination with a seat. This makes flying even more relaxed.”

Founded in 1956, Condor Flugdienst GmbH is Germany’s favorite leisure airline and serves over nine million guests annually to 90 destinations in Europe, Africa and America from nine German gateways, Zurich and Vienna. The German leisure carrier has a fleet of over 50 aircraft which are meticulously maintained to the highest safety standards by their wholly-owned subsidiary Condor Technik with facilities in Frankfurt and Düsseldorf. Starting in Fall 2022, Condor will become the German launch customer for the Airbus A330neo.
