On Monday (July 28, 2025), Condor announced the launch of their inaugural flight between Frankfurt Airport (FRA) and Sanya Phoenix International Airport (SYX) on China’s Hainan Island.  The inaugural flight, DE2362, took to the skies on Saturday evening (July 26th), and touched down in Sanya on Sunday (July 27th) following an interim stop in Bangkok (BKK), and was celebrated with a traditional welcome ceremony.  For summer 2025, the route will operate three times weekly on Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays with an Airbus A330neo featuring Business Class, Premium Economy Class, and Economy Class cabins.

In Monday’s announcement, Condor’s managing Director and CTO, Heiko Holm, said,

“With the launch of the Sanya connection, Condor continues the strategic expansion of its long-haul network in Asia.  Thanks to close and trusted cooperation with Sanya Phoenix International Airport and the Sanya Tourism Board, we have created an attractive offering for travelers from Europe while also opening new travel opportunities for Chinese guests into our European network.”

The launch of the new route follows the signing of a MoU between Condor, the Sanya Tourism Board and Sanya Phoenix International Airport in March 2025, which includes a joint commitment to promoting responsible tourism and preserving the destination’s rich cultural heritage.
