Cheers! Air Canada Aeroplan Members Can Now Earn Points for Online LCBO Purchases

In addition to in-store purchases, Air Canada Aeroplan members can now earn points when shopping online at LCBO.com and the LCBO app. LCBO is one of the world’s largest buyers and retailers of beverage alcohol.

On Monday (May 30, 2022), Air Canada announced that Aeroplan loyalty program members can now earn points when shopping online at LCBO.com and on the LCBO app, in addition to in-store purchases. To earn points, Aeroplan members simply enter their Aeroplan number at checkout, or for added convenience, can add it to their online LCBO customer profile. In celebration of earning points online with LCBO, customers who join Aeroplan from May 26th through June 8, 2022 and make a purchase at LCBO.com or in the LCBO app during this period will receive 250 bonus points. Additionally, members who spend CAD $50.00 or more when shopping online with LCBO during the same period will earn double points. Aeroplan members earn one point for every $4 spent at LCBO, plus bonus points for promotional products. Points can then be redeemed for flights, hotels, car rentals, merchandise and gift cards, including LCBO gift cards.


In Monday’s announcement, Air Canada’s Vice President – Loyalty and Product, Scott O’Leary, said,


“We're excited for our members in Ontario to experience the new LCBO.com and earn Aeroplan points while doing so It's one more way we're bringing our members closer to their next reward.”


Further commenting on the new points earning opportunity, LCBO’s Chief Marketing and Digital Officer, Vanda Provato, added,


“Our customers can now take advantage of earning Aeroplan points across our in-store and digital channels, which provide the seamless experience that our customers expect. This is one of the many enhanced benefits of our new website, which makes it even easier to find the perfect choice heading into summer.”


Established in 1926, the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) is an Ontario Government enterprise responsible for the retail and wholesale of wine, beer and spirits. The organization operated over 650 retail stores across the province, and works with 450 grocery partners, licensees, and over 400 LCBO Convenience Outlets. All net income from the operation goes to the Government of Ontario in the form of an annual dividend. In fiscal 2020-2021, LCBO delivered a $2.39 billion dividend to the Ontario Government to support critical services such as Healthcare, education and infrastructure.
