On Friday (August 1, 2025), Cebu Pacific (CEB) announced the launch of the ‘easytrack’ tire management system.  Officially launched in partnership with Bridgestone in April 2025, the innovative system uses QR codes and a smartphone app to streamline aircraft tire tracking, significantly cutting labor time involved in tire inventory management.  In partnership with Bridgestone, CEB has implemented ‘easytrack’ across their supply chain, including outsourced external warehouses, CEB’s affiliated MRO, and airline operations.  Following a successful three-month trial, easytrack resulted in a 50 percent reduction in workload and near-zero human error, leading to its full-scale adoption.

In Friday’s announcement, Cebu Pacific’s VP – Engineering & Fleet Management, Shevantha Weerasekera, said,

“As Cebu Pacific continues to expand its operations, it’s essential that we invest in smart solutions that enhance efficiency and reduce manual workload. Partnering with Bridgestone to implement the ‘easytrack’ system has enabled us to significantly improve our tire management processes, ensuring greater accuracy, safety, and productivity across our operations.”

Also commenting on the tire inventory management collaboration, Bridgestone Corporation’s Director – Global Aviation Tire Solutions Business Division, Arata Tomita added,

“As a value co-creation partner, we have proposed solutions tailored to on-site operations based on learnings and insights gained from Cebu Pacific’s frontline operations.  We are very pleased that the official implementation of ‘easytrack’ has contributed to the improvement of operational accuracy, safety, and productivity.  Through further expansion and evolution of this solution, we will amplify the value of our ‘Dan-Totsu Products’, trust with our customers, and value of the data for creating new value.”

In order to meet strict aviation safety standards, aircraft tires must be managed individually, and have traditionally been tracked manually, resulting in inefficiencies.  Bridgestone developed ‘easytrack’ to address these challenges, enhancing inventory accuracy throughout the tire lifecycle, from production to return.  This partnership underscores Bridgestone’s vision of creating value through efficiency and sustainability, and CEB’s ongoing drive for operational excellence.

Launched in March 1996 as a low cost-carrier, Cebu Pacific (CEB) pioneered the ‘low fare, great value’ strategy in the region.  Since then, the airline has flown over 250 million passengers.  CEB offers the most expansive network in the Philippines with 37 domestic and 26 international destinations.  Cebu Pacific operates a fleet of 99 aircraft, which is one of the youngest fleets in the world.
