Cathay Pacific Unveils Onboard Experience Enhancements

Cathay Pacific is raising the bar for the guest experience with a brand new Premium Economy cabin, an exclusive collection of Chinese wines, and continued collaborations with acclaimed restaurants.

On Thursday (April 11, 2024), Cathay Pacific announced the unveiling of their all-new Premium Economy cabin experience, which was revealed for the first time at an exclusive Customer Experience Showcase at the Freespace in Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Cultural District earlier this week.  Coming to the carrier’s retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER fleet this year, the new Premium Economy product sets a new standard for comfort and privacy.


In Thursday’s announcement, Cathay Pacific’s General Manager – Customer Experience and Design, Vivian Lo, said,

Additionally, Cathay Pacific showcased a new, exclusive selection of fine Chinese wines, which are currently being served to First and Business Class guests traveling on long-haul routes until May 2024.  The airline’s award-winning wine cellar features vintages and cuvées from esteemed winemakers worldwide, including France, Italy, Austria, South Africa, Australia, the United States, New Zealand, and now also China.  Cathay Pacific also highlighted recent dining collaborations with renowned Hong Kong dining establishments, as well as features of their award winning inflight entertainment (IFE) experience.


Each aspect of Cathay Pacific’s elevated new Premium Economy experience has been meticulously crafted with the guest in mind, from generous seats, to lighting design and modern fixtures, customers will enjoy a new standard of comfort.  The new seats offer a greater sense of personal space and seclusion, and include thoughtful touches such as a leather headrest, customized seat cushions, privacy wings, and a reading light next to the headrest.  Premium Economy guests will also enjoy a generous 15.6-inch 4K Ultra HD IFE screen with Bluetooth audio streaming, along with more storage space for personal devices.  Additionally, exclusive new Premium Economy lavatories on each side of the cabin offer touch-free features.


Cathay Pacific collaborates with acclaimed local restaurants, delivering a memorable dining experience to guests.  Customer can enjoy a bespoke menu of reimagined French classics from JIA Group’s Michelin-starred French restaurant Louise, or an all-new selection of ‘Hong Kong Flavours’ developed in collaboration with the Cantonese fine dining institution Duddell’s.  Visitor’s to The Pier, the airline’s First Class Lounge at Hong Kong International Airport, can indulge in specially crafted tasting menus developed together with Rosewood, one of Hong Kong’s celebrated restaurants.
