Cathay Pacific to Launch New Nonstop Service Between Hong Kong and Changsha, China

Starting November 4, 2025, Cathay pacific will launch new daily nonstop service between Hong Kong and Changsha. This the carrier’s fifth Chinese Mainland destination launched in 2025, and expands the airline’s Mainland China network to 24 destinations.

On Monday (September 29, 20254), Cathay Pacific announced the launch of new daily nonstop service between Hong Kong and Changsha in China starting November 4, 2025. This is the fifth Chinese Mainland destination added by the Cathay Group in 2025, bringing their Chinese Mainland network to 24 destinations. The new route will offer a convenient option for travelers from Hong Kong and across the globe to discover the vibrant heart of China’s Hunan Province. Inbound customers to Hong Kong can look forward to seamless connectivity to Cathay Group’s global network covering over 100 destinations worldwide.
In Monday’s announcement, Cathay’s CEO, Ronald lam, said,
“We are excited to introduce non-stop flights between Hong Kong and Changsha, establishing an important bridge that fosters trade and cultural exchange between Hunan and the rest of the world via our Hong Kong hub. With Changsha as our 24th destination in the Chinese Mainland, we are doubling down on our promise of greater choice, convenience and connectivity for our customers. We look forward to welcoming even more travellers aboard and helping spark new journeys in travel, trade and tourism.”
Cathay Pacific’s Hong Kong-Changsha route will be operated with an Airbus A321neo, featuring Business Class and Economy Class cabins, as well as the airline’s award-winning IFE experience. In addition to launching the new Changsha service, this winter season Cathay Pacific is increasing frequencies on other routes between Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland. For the peak winter 2025/26 season, Cathay Pacific and HK Express will operate over 330 return weekly flights between the Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong.
