Cathay Pacific has unveiled a new onboard safety video which celebrates the energy of Hong Kong through compelling storytelling, while delivering all essential safety information.
On Monday (July 29, 2024), Cathay Pacific announced the release of their new Kong Kong-themed onboard safety video. The video celebrates the pulsing energy of Hong Kong, and delivers all essential safety information through compelling storytelling. Created in collaboration with the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), the video aims to promote Hong Kong as a favored destination and gateway for visitors worldwide. The video interweaves the important safety instructions with the unique charms of Hong Kong, while capturing the city’s iconic landmarks, bustling activities, world-class arts and culture scene, natural landscapes and more.
In Monday’s announcement, Cathay Pacific’s Chief Customer and Commercial Officer, Lavinia Lau, said,
“At Cathay Pacific, safety has always been at the heart of everything we do, and this new video embodies our commitment to keeping our customers informed and prepared, while fostering our Move Beyond spirit. We wanted to put our own spin on the video and create something truly memorable that resonates with our global audience and showcases the true essence of our home city on the move. We are deeply appreciative of the support from HKTB, which has allowed us to weave together inflight safety information and the vibrant offerings of Hong Kong in a gripping video.”
Also commenting on the video collaboration, Hong Kong Tourism Board’s Executive Director, Dane Cheng, added,

Marking the launch of the new onboard safety video, Cathay Pacific held a special event at The Sky Lounge, The Upper House on Friday, July 26, 2024. The event was hosted by Cathay’s Chief Customer and Commercial Officer, Lavinia Lau, and attended by VIP guests including Hong Kong Tourism Board’s Executive Director, Dane Cheng, and Commissioner for Tourism Vivian Sum.
