On Wednesday (October 6, 2021), Brussels Airlines announced their summer 2022 holiday offer. To meet the high demand for holiday travel after two years of restrictions, the carrier has extended their offer with a focus on the leisure market and will operate extra flights to the most popular holiday destinations during the peak summer season. In total, Brussels Airlines will serve 29 European destinations, 18 destinations in Africa, three in the Middle East and two destinations in North America. New routes for summer 2022 include Chania (Greece) and Antalya (Turkey) which will be served for the first time since 2019. The carrier will offer three weekly flights to Antalya from March 29th and two weekly flights to Chania from May 7, 2022.

In Wednesday’s announcement, Brussels Airlines’ Head of Network and Planning, Jan Derycke, said,

“Since some weeks we clearly see a change in the booking pattern, which was dominated by last-minute bookings for about 20 months. The last weeks we’ve seen a growing number of incoming bookings for the spring period and especially for the upcoming school holidays. This is a very positive sign, showing that also our customers see the light at the end of the tunnel and that they start planning next year’s holidays. It also confirms their trust in Brussels Airlines. They can rely on Belgium’s home carrier to get to their favourite holiday destinations.

“This shift in the booking trend enables us to better adapt our offer to the needs of our customer. By already publishing our schedule for next summer we want to respond to their needs and offer inspiration to those who haven’t decided yet.”

In Europe, Brussels Airlines will offer a wider range of holiday destinations, including Corfu, Chania, Heraklion, Kos, Rhodes and Zakynthos in Greece, as well as the Canary and Balearic Islands in Spain. The carrier’s summer 2022 schedule will also include Florence, Napoli, Bari, Catania and Olbia (Italy) Malaga and Alicante (Spain) and Faro, Porto and Lisbon (Portugal). In the Middle East, the airline will offer 14 weekly flights to Tel Aviv and four weekly flights to Yerevan. In Africa, Brussels Airlines will once again serve Tangier and Nador in Morocco, as well as 15 other Sub-Saharan destinations. The carrier will also connect Brussels with New York and Washington D.C. (U.S.) for summer 2022.
