British Airways to Resume Service to Abu Dhabi From April 2024

After a four-year hiatus, British Airways will resume year-round daily service between London Heathrow and Abu Dhabi starting April 20, 2024. The route will be operated with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

On Thursday (October 19, 2023), British Airways announced that they will resume service between London Heathrow (LHR) and Abu Dhabi (AUH) after a four-year hiatus. Starting April 20, 2024, the year-round route will operate daily with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, complementing the carrier’s service to Dubai, which operates up to three times daily. Celebrating the relaunch of Abu Dhabi service, British Airways is offering return fares from £449 in World Traveller (Economy) and £1,999 in Club World (Business Class). To qualify for the promotional fares, tickets must be booked before November 12, 2023. Executive Club members can also book Reward Seats from £100 + 50,000 Avios.


In today’s announcement, British Airways’ Director of Network and Alliances, Neil Chernoff, said,


“Abu Dhabi is a unique destination that is making a very welcome return to our network. With a blend of beach, city and desert, it has everything our customers are looking for in a Middle Eastern trip, and we look forward to welcoming them back on board as we grow our footprint in the UAE.”


Also commenting on the resumed LHR-AUH service, Abu Dhabi Airports’ Chief Commercial Officer, Maureen Bannerman, added,

“We’re delighted to welcome British Airways back to Abu Dhabi International Airport, adding to the growing list of leading carriers set to use Terminal A as their operational base in Abu Dhabi. A luxurious new gateway to Abu Dhabi, Terminal A will open to the public from November 1st, offering state-of-the-art facilities for both passengers and airlines.”
