For summer 2021, the carrier is launching an exciting schedule connecting England’s south coast with popular holiday destinations in Spain, Italy, Portugal, Greece, France and Germany. The new flights from Southampton will complement existing services from London City.
Today (December 9, 2020), British Airways announced that under a new agreement with Southampton Airport, the carrier will operate 17 flights each weekend to eleven destinations for summer 2021. The schedule, which runs from May 1st through October 31, 2021, will include flights to popular European holiday destinations in Spain, Italy, Portugal, Greece, France and Germany. The seasonal flights from Southampton Airport will complement the airline’s existing services from London City Airport. Starting today, customers can book flights from Southampton with return fares from only £66. In Wednesday’s announcement, BA CityFlyer’s Managing Director, Tom Stoddart, said,
“We are delighted to announce the extension of our services to Southampton Airport next summer. This is an exciting opportunity for the British Airways family. The ideal location of the airport and excellent facilities on offer will hugely benefit our customers along the South Coast as they plan to take to the skies again and book a well-deserved holiday in the sun.”
Also commenting on the new seasonal flights, Southampton Airport’s Operations Director, Steve Szalay, added,
“Today’s announcement from British Airways is fantastic news for Southampton Airport and the region during what has been the most challenging of years. It’s also great to see BA return to the airport once again and the range of excellent destinations on offer is sure to be a welcome early Christmas present for passengers looking to plan a European holiday next summer.”
British Airways Holidays is also offering for a limited time seven night flight and hotel packages to destinations including Malaga, Faro and La Palma starting from just £199 per person. To qualify for the low introductory rates, customers must book their travel by midnight on Wednesday, December 16, 2020. From Southampton for the summer 2021 schedule, BA CityFlyer will offer flights to Malaga, Florence, Faro, Mykonos, Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca, Bergerac Dordogne Périgord, Limoges-Bellegarde, Nice Côte d’Azur, Edinburgh and Berlin. As previously mentioned, the summer schedule will run from May 1st through October 31, 2021.
