British Airways Resumes Service to Abu Dhabi After a Four Year Hiatus

British Airways returned to Abu Dhabi on Sunday (April 21st) for the first time in four years.  The year will now operate year-round on a daily basis, and will be serviced with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner for summer 2024.

On Sunday (April 21, 2024), British Airways celebrated the resumption flights between London Heathrow (LHR) and Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi (AUH) after a four year pause.  The route will now operate year-round and will be serviced with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner for summer 2024.  Flight BA073 will depart London Heathrow at 22:25 and arrive in Abu Dhabi at 08:30+1, while the return flight, (BA072) departs Abu Dhabi at 10:10, and arrives At London Heathrow at 15:20.


In Sunday’s announcement, Abu Dhabi Airports’ CEO, Elena Sorlini, said,


“We extend a warm welcome to British Airways as they start operating at Zayed International Airport with a daily schedule that promises to enrich connectivity and invigorate both business and tourism.  Our new award-winning and cutting-edge terminal offers visitors an unparalleled introduction to the vibrant UAE capital, where they will be greeted with Emirati hospitality at its finest.”


Also commenting on the resumed service, British Airways’ Chief Customer Officer, Calum Laming, added,
