British Airways has today launched their first Avios-Only flights, of which 100 percent of seats are exclusively available to Executive Club members as Reward Seats. The inaugural Avios-Only flight will take place on November 3, 2023.

On Thursday (April 13, 2023), British Airways announced the launch of their first ever Avios-Only flights. All of the seats on these flights will be exclusively available to Executive Club Members as Reward Seats. The inaugural Avios-Only flight will depart on November 3, 2023 with service from London-Gatwick to Sharm El Sheikh, in Egypt. This will be followed by a number of flights from London-Heathrow to Geneva in February and March 2024. Additional flights will be announced throughout 2023. The new Sharm El Sheikh route will be operated by BA Euroflyer three times per week during winter, with a fourth flight on Saturdays until December `15, 2023.
In today’s announcement, British Airways’ Director of Retail and Customer Relationship Management, Ian Romanis, said,
“We are always looking for new ways to reward our loyal customers and offer value wherever we can, which is why we are excited about this brand-new option for Members. Sharm El Sheikh and Geneva will be the first of several flights as we roll more out in 2024.”
Also commenting on the launch of Avios-Only flights, BA Euroflyer’s CEO, Tom Stoddart, added,
“We are proud to be operating British Airways’ first Avios-Only flight. BA Euroflyer is the only short-haul carrier based at Gatwick to offer a loyalty programme, and now we’re offering more value and choice than ever for our Members.”

Return flights to Sharm El Sheikh will be available from as little as £1 plus 27,500 Avios per person, with an option to reduce this even further with a Companion Voucher. Club Europe (Business Class) fares start from £1 plus 48,500 Avios. Following the first Avios-Only flight to Sharm El Sheikh on November 3, 2023, the next 100 percent Rewards Seats flights will be BA728 from London-Heathrow to Geneva on February 10, 17 and 24, and March 2, 2024. Flights will be available from £1 plus 18,500 per person, or £1 plus 30,000 Avios in Club Europe.
